Summary
Wener is outside Werner’s Weiners in Chapter 18, and Logan tells Maizy that Werner and Opa used to be best friends. Maizy goes up to Werner and, using what she learned in poker, asks him if he wants to make a deal. She asks him if she can have food in exchange for the Chinese meal she has. Werner agrees, but he says that no one must know. Maizy tells Werner that her grandfather is sick. Maizy brings the brats to Opa, and he asks whether Werner knew who they were for. She says no. Opa eats it, but says that no one must know. Opa tells Maizy that he is the one who taught Werner how to speak proper English. Werner’s family immigrated from Germany.
