Stephanie Land

Stephanie Land is the author, narrator, and main character of Maid. As a young adult, she dreamed of going to college in Missoula for creative writing but abandoned those plans after learning she was pregnant. From the moment she found out she was going to have a child, Stephanie was devoted to being the best possible parent she could be. After breaking up with her abusive partner, Jaime, Stephanie and her daughter Mia end up homeless and living on government assistance. Stephanie is not able to turn to her parents for financial or emotional support and has to provide for herself and her daughter on her own, with limited resources.
