Alan Conway

Alan Conway is the author who created Magpie Murders as well as eight other installments of the Atticus Pünd series of novels. Even though he made a good deal of money from these novels, Conway was never happy writing them. He wanted to write books of substance and thought his novel The Slide was one of his best because it made a statement about society. He was angered and frustrated because no one wanted to read these sorts of novels; instead they wanted to read murder mysteries, which he considered trash.

Conway began his series of novels with the intention of belittling his readers and humiliating his wife, Melissa, who had suggested he write a murder mystery just to break into the business.
