Summary

In Chapter 13, Magnus tells Njord that he is not willing to risk Blitz and Hearth’s lives, even for the mead. Njord laments Magnus's similarity to his father, who sacrificed everything for the one he loves. Magnus remembers how Frey traded away the Sword of Summer in order to win the love of a giantess. Losing his sword will ultimately cause him to be slain at Ragnorak. Magnus decides that he does not blame Frey for making that choice. Magnus tells Njord that the and Frey are alike and that he does not care how important the mead is.
