Summary

In Chapter 7, "Have You or Someone You Love Ever Suffered from Lindworms," the group heads into battle with Magnus watching over Alex. They kill other warriors, and Magnus asks Alex if she was in the youth shelter. He says he was homeless for two years and Alex sarcastically asks if that makes them friends. Magnus starts to ask a question, but Alex assumes he is asking about her gender. Magnus explains to the reader that many homeless kids see themselves as gender fluid and may have been kicked out by unaccepting parents. He then asks why she told the raven she felt messed up, and Alex says she was not prepared to die and learn she is immortal. Magnus wants to ask more questions but a lindworm appears. Alex says it is the ancient worm Grimwolf and that someone sent it for her...
