Hazel
Hazel is a woman in her 30’s who has spent the past decade of her life married to Byron Gogol and spending most of her time in the isolated, state-of-the-art Gogol Hub. She is short, attractive, and very well-manicured after years of the expensive beauty regimen that is typical at the Hub. From the outside, her life seems filled with luxury, but Hazel is in fact desperately unhappy with her loveless relationship and bored of life in the Hub.
Hazel’s mistaken decision to marry Byron is rooted in her unhealthy pattern of denial and low self-worth. These problems stem from her troubled childhood, when she was neglected by her domineering mother and emotionally absent father. Before she meets Byron, she is on the brink of a complete breakdown: her financial situation is a mess, she is failing her classes, and she regularly drinks to forget her problems...
