Summary
When Byron answered the phone, he asked Hazel how the download of memories from the chip in her brain had gone. Hazel told him that she did not believe him, but Byron insisted that it had been done back at the Gogol Hub without her knowledge. This was what had made her vomit and blackout. It was an older model of the new chip that Byron had developed, so rather than sending a constant stream of her thoughts to Byron, they were downloaded every 24 hours along with her GPS location.
