Lily is a trans-identified teenager who was born male. When she was young, she always remembered wanting to dress in girl’s clothing and identified more with the girls she knew at school, to her father’s chagrin. He was always embarrassed by her, and she knew he did not accept her. He sent Lily to an all-boys school to promote discipline when she was a preteen but she was bullied relentlessly by the other boys because she did not fit in. When her father came home one day to find her wearing her mother’s clothing and makeup, he tied her to a chair and cut off her long hair as punishment before striking her and leaving her in an overturned chair on the floor.
