Summary

The trial continues and Braden appears in support of Asher. Olivia is shocked and hurt when he reveals that he had been seeing Asher once a month before he went to jail. Asher is apologetic for surprising his mother with this news, but he also reveals he intended to stop seeing him anyway before Lily’s death. He feels resentful that Braden has a new family now and has never invited Asher over to see his half-siblings.

On the stand, Olivia is terrified to say anything wrong, but she is determined to defend Asher. She reveals that when Asher was six, he defended her against Braden which gave her the courage to leave the relationship. This is the first time she has publicly named Braden as an abusive partner and told her story to anybody other than her mother, brother, and therapist.
