Section 2: Chapter 3 & 4 Summary

In Chapter 3, walking to school and remembering that ninth birthday party, the last Liam and Aly celebrated together, Regan recalls how Liam was upset because he did not get a bra, and while Dad pulled him inside for a talk, Aly laughed at him for being funny and told Regan that someday she would marry Liam and she and Regan would be sisters; however, Regan thought "I already have a sister" (p. 17). Regan wonders why her parents could not see the girl in Liam when she could. Whatever Dad said to Liam that day swallowed Lia Marie, but she did not withdraw forever. Liam pulls up to give Regan a ride in his Spyder, but passing the school despite Regan's protestations, Liam tells her he wants to kill himself. She hates when he gets like this. As they stop at Starbucks...
