Chapters 8-10 Summary
In Chapter 8, JoLayne and Krome arrive in Miami and take a hotel room. JoLayne wakes Krome early in the morning and learns that he has taken out a loan through the paper to pay her credit card so that they can follow the criminals as long as necessary. At the newspaper, Sinclair is afraid to tell his boss that Krome has quit since the managing editor is a huge fan of Krome's work. Sinclair writes a memo that makes Krome's resignation appear to have been a mental breakdown. In Miami, Bode and Chub discuss how they will claim their lotto winnings. Bode insists that they should wait a week and then one of them will turn in their ticket. A week or so later, the other can turn in his. In the meantime, Krome and JoLayne wait for Bode and Chub...
