The Lottery Ticket

The lottery ticket is a symbol of hope, though Lucky believes there is no chance she will ever actually win. When she does win a huge jackpot, she cannot possibly claim the money without being caught by the police, which is an effect of her past.

Cutting her Hair

Lucky has to cut her hair in Las Vegas to change her appearance to avoid the police. This prompts a memory of her father trying to force her to cut her hair in 1992. Lucky had became furious and tried to run away. When she returned, she cut her hair herself. In both instances, cutting her hair to change her outward appearance represents the changes she will undergo when she reconnects with Valerie, her biological mom.
