Summary

Chapter 25 is dated April 13, 1912. Valora tells Jamie about the dream. Jamie suggests Ba is not the one unable to move on, but says “Maybe you're struggling” (219). Valora dismisses the possibility but does not argue. When Jamie and Valora make their entrance for the performance, Valora immediately sees Charlotte wearing the black and yellow dress with the veil, pretending to be Mrs. Sloane. She is carrying the urn that is supposed to be the ashes of her late husband. April notices Charlotte and nods her approval at the ruse. Valora estimates more than 600 people are gathered to watch. Valora again hopes that this will convince Jamie to come with her. Jamie and Valora blow the imaginary dandelion, then begin.
