The Mailman: One; The Mailman: Two; The Stronghold: One Summary
Near Silver Valley Ranch, Jason Gillcuddy announces to his friend, Harry Newcombe, that he's finished his book and will soon be leaving the valley. Harry hears that news, celebrates the book with a cup of brandy, and is driving on with his route when the earthquake hits. He travels onward and is soon beset by a mud slide. He tries to navigate it but the truck overturns. He remains in the truck overnight, and wakes, piles all the first class mail in his bag and sets out on foot. He reaches the Miller's place where Jack, Cicelia and Roy are busy harvesting their tomatoes.
