Eileen and Tim arrive in Tujunga to find it filled with armed men in an array of outdated and ill-fitting uniforms. They are told that a soup line will be forming and that ration cards will be handed out soon. Someone gives him a snack package of cheese and crackers, which he shares with Eileen. Then the two of them decide that they shouldn't remain but should go toward his observatory.
