Summary
Madam Kulikowa tells Skinny that she will not be on regular duty as she will be servicing an officer instead. When Captain Hentschel arrives, he makes small talk with her and asks her questions about herself. She reminds herself of the need to be very careful in what she says to him. Throughout their encounter, her thoughts are full of insecurities and fears about whether she is doing what is expected of her, and what their conversation means.
Skinny washes Captain Hentschel and, when she crosses her arms and legs, he asks her if she is ashamed. She says no, but thinks often of the shame in what she is doing. As Captain Hentschel finally has sex with her, she thinks of landscapes in other places.
Afterward, Captain Hentschel returns to his conversation, asking about her and telling her about his former lover...
