Summary
A black Yamaha concert grand piano sits in The Restaurant and Jimmy plays it from seven to eleven three nights a week, or until they are customer free – whichever comes first. Jimmy was hired eight years ago, after Valentino’s burned down and he found himself out of work. He had really enjoyed working at Valentino’s, the situation there much more conducive to having a personal life, and he was treated with respect. By comparison, Jimmy had to drive farther to play at The Restaurant, he often was forced to park across the street rather than in the lot, and he was forced to wear a suit and tie. Despite sometimes wearing the same one all week, no one ever troubled him about it.
On his second night at The Restaurant, Jimmy had asked the bartender for a glass of wine at eleven...
