Summary
In Chapter 35, Harriet thinks about her life growing up after her mother died. She remembers how her father told her that he would never marry again and how he always kept his promises to her.
In Chapter 36, Yasmin had an incident in which Mrs. Rowland, a patient’s niece, requested a British doctor. When Yasmin explained she was British and suggested what the woman wanted was a White doctor, Mrs. Rowland became angry and suggested that Yasmin was accusing her of being racist. Mrs. Rowland demanded an apology, but Yasmin did not give her one.
