Summary
Robbie's grandfather writes him a handwritten letter in response to Robbie's email. He does not think emailing "is the best move" considering the subject matter they are discussing (1).
He says it is a "beautiful day" (2). Just that morning, he and Robbie's grandmother sat on the porch drinking from the mugs Robbie gave them, and watched a "flock of geese" pass overhead (2).
He apologizes for using initials to refer to Robbie's friends, but thinks it is a necessary precaution. He was glad to meet G., M., and J., when they visited with Robbie last Easter.
He agrees that Robbie should let G.'s issues go, as there is nothing more he can do. G. was undocumented. M. is now in trouble because, though they are documented, they did not report G. to the appropriate authority.
He knows this logic is flawed, and is tired...
