Summary
Comic 20 – At the center of this two-page spread, is an image, draw in ink on what seems to be broadly brushed paint, of a male head; in the centre of this head is a mythical creature with a patch of red, half of a yin/yang symbol, within which a same-sex couple (female?) embraces. The page is titled “Furious Orlando,” and features a seven-stanza poem that frames the central visual. The poem portrays “Orlando” as wondering “Could it be that inside the face of Death sometimes madness was the only bet?” It calls on a hippogriff to save those “who [follow] their passion”; calls out those who attack those who are different; and concludes with an image of Orlando praying “for the souls/of those/who wanted/and briefly grasped/a love/not allowed to live/in peace” (Comic 20).
