Summary

In Chapter 6, Anh and Olive are surprised by the standing-room-only crowd in the auditorium for Tom’s lecture. The crowd pushed Anh and Olive toward the place where Adam was sitting talking to his friend and colleague Holden Rodriguez. Adam offered Olive his seat, but Anh convinced them there would be more room in the auditorium if Olive sat on Adam’s lap instead. Olive worried that if she sat on Adam’s lap that it would make him decide their fake relationship was not worth his grant funds. Instead, he nodded at her and she sat down. When she apologized, he joked that it would be more material for his Title IX complaint.

After the lecture, Olive and Anh noticed traffic was backed up in the parking lot. It turned out that a broken-down car was blocking the exit lane. They watched...
