Love and Romance

The novella follows two key couples, Simon and Bram and Leah and Abby. Simon and Bram have been together longer, and their relationship began in a much more secretive, mysterious manner as they emailed one another for five months at the beginning of their relationship. At that time, they were unaware who they were corresponding with. Abby and Leah's relationship is newer, and although it is obvious that they love one another, they often hint at saying the "four-letter-L-word" instead of saying it out loud (11). They do not profess their love aloud until three months into the book (62).

Although Simon and Bram have been dating for two years, both of them want to keep the excitement alive in their relationship. They plan surprises for one another and contemplate how they can make their short snatches of time together as romantic as possible. For example...
