Summary

Leah and Abby email each other on October 7th regarding their parents meeting at a dinner that night. They are each spending three nights at their respective homes during a short break. Leah sends her email before dinner, and Abby send hers after so that the reader grasps the gist of the whole event. Leah explains that her mother, who gave birth to her at a young age, is both excited and nervous to meet Abby's parents. Abby already explained to her parents that Leah is her girlfriend, but they do not know that the two are rooming together at university.
