Young Lions Summary

Caesar Matthews is a twenty-four-year-old criminal. He commits murder eight months previous to the opening of the story and he always carries a gun. He lives with Carol, a woman who picked him up at a dance club. Caesar views Carol as a resource and a sexual object, but Carol appears to have deeper feelings for Caesar. Caesar occasionally works as a bartender for Manny Soto, a local fence and widely known criminal figure. Manny always chuckles when he talks, as if everything is a joke to him.
