Summary
In Chapter 24, Ursula directs Lorna to a shabby duplex that Lorna hates but can afford. Lorna knows she would have cried about this place when she was younger, but one's “expectations evidently faded along with your shrinking life expectancy.” She works up excitement for the move and to be back in America overall. She shops modestly, including thrift stores and IKEA. She is pleased to be invited to a dinner party hosted b the Fludds. She remains passive through most of it but garners some interest with her story of the cemetery at Pont-les-Puits She meets a woman connected with an art museum and believes it could be positive for her career.
