Summary

Chapter 15 opens with narrator thinking the apartment is too big without Jonás being there. When she talks to Jonás, she thinks that she is calmer and that she wants “to listen to [Jonas] better” (109). She tells Jonás that she wishes he could have gone to the party with her and Guillermo the night before. She thinks about how she enjoys the “limbo time” (110) on Sundays and she likes to listen to the radio. The narrator remembers Jonás crying for the first time after his mother Ana’s death.

In Chapter 16, the narrator reveals that she has a scar and that “telling stories is a way of putting a scar into words” (115).

Chapter 17 finds the narrator again wondering if she is moving closer or further away. She uses the notebook to turn off a light. The narrator remembers moving in...
