Love Endures
Marnie is an example of love enduring through the ages though she tells Law at one point that she'd had no idea a childhood crush would have stayed with her for some seventeen years. Marnie is actually just a fourteen-year-old girl when Law was making out with Sharon. Still, the two of them spend some time together over the course of that summer and Marnie makes an impression on Law, though he is much older. Marnie fell in love with Law then and that love remained a part of her throughout her life. She talks of an incident in which she is posing for a sculptor and the man touches her lips. His touch conjures up memories of Law, then many years past their one summer together on the beach at Galveston. When Law returns to Marnie's life, he's forgotten about that summer but her recollections prompt...
