Summary

Kacey tells Mickey that Lafferty is one of Dock’s friends. Kacey says that Dock, whom she calls Conner, was good to her. He is the father of the baby she is carrying. Because of the pregnancy, Kacey and Dock tried to get clean together. One day, however, she came home from getting her dose of methadone and found Dock high. She prayed for help in changing alone. The next day their father showed up. She would not go with him right then because she wanted to tell Dock where she had gone. When she told Dock she was leaving, he did not take it well. He strangled her, hit her, broke her wrist, and threatened to kill her.

Because of her injuries, Kacey stopped getting her methadone and also did not meet her father like she was supposed to...
