Chapter 10 - An American Fugitive Cornered by the Taliban
In Chapter 10, Sarawa took him to the village and patched him up. They took his belongings, and he was finally able to rest. The home was very simple. Taliban fighters burst into his room and beat him. They interrogated him for hours. A young boy around 17 came in, and enjoyed watching the soldiers beat Marcus. They messed with his camera and rifle. The village elder came in. Marcus found out later that he told the Taliban fighters that they couldn't take him away.
Sarawa and other villagers took him away to a cave on June 30. They gave him an old Pepsi bottle to drink from. It smelled horrible. Marcus drank by pouring drink into his mouth rather than sipping from it so he wouldn't get typhoid. Sarawa left the cave...
