Bea is Kate’s wife. Kate describes Bea as being the stronger and more likely to take charge of a situation. Bea, Kate, Josh, and Meredith went to a club to drink and dance on Bea’s thirtieth birthday. Bea and Meredith drove home together even though they were both too drunk to be driving. Bea ran over Shelby, who was crouched in the road tying her shoe.

Instead of reporting the homicide to the police, Bea chose to cover up the crime. She feared that because both she and Meredith had been drinking that they would go to jail. Bea loaded Shelby’s body into the trunk and had Meredith help bury her near the river.
