Elizabeth Davenport
Elizabeth is Dr. Davenport and Catherine’s daughter. When the past plot line begins, she is sixteen years old and engaged to James, her father’s coworker. Elizabeth is not like other girls her age. She has dreams of having a career for herself as a painter. She has no desire to marry James and instead falls for Tom after he saves her mother’s life.
Elizabeth is very family oriented. She often finds herself torn between her loyalty to her family and her loyalty to Tom. The first time she feels this way is when Tom saves Catherine. She longs to tell Tom about Catherine’s Alzheimer’s but dares not, for fear of betraying her father. Elizabeth also feels torn between her love of Tom and her promise to James, the latter which means the world to Dr. Davenport. Elizabeth also has family troubles later...
