Jon is worried about his reign. He did not expect to be king for quite some time, but now he is. He is worried about Alanna, and hopes that she can really bring the Dominion Jewel back to him. Gary wonders if their messengers will really find her, and Jon assures him that one of them must. The fate of the kingdom might well rest on that Jewel. While Jonathan and Gary discuss the fate of the realm, George arrives at his mother's house after she has been attacked by Claw. He takes his mother to Sir Myles, who agrees to allow her to stay at his home, where she will be safe.
