Chapters 38 through Summary
Grace expects her parents to begin yelling at her the moment she's inside, but they don't. They seem to want her to confess but she doesn't. Her mother says Grace has been "extremely disrespectful," and that Grace has been given "room to roam." Grace is furious. She says she can't remember the number of times her parents called to say they were out with friends or would be late coming home. Grace says her parents are angry because she's made a choice on her own. Her father says she's never to see Sam again. Lewis says he doesn't like "the person Grace has become" since spending time with Sam. Grace's nose begins to bleed and she grabs a tissue to hide it from her parents, then goes to her room.
