Oankali

Oankali are the alien race that comes to Earth and saves the last remaining Humans from death. The Oankali look very differently than Humans do but feel that Humans are a treasure. The Oankali treasure life so much that they refuse to let Humans continue on the way that they have been going in the knowledge that Humans will try to kill themselves again with war or some other means. In an Oankali family there is a male, female and an ooloi, which is neither male nor female.
