Summary

Page 41 starts again with Reza’s perspective as he describes his mostly gold and ornate dining room. Abbas - his stepfather is talking about the stock market. Reza thinks that Abbas is hinting his mother should not try to work again, and thinks about his sister still in college in Canada. Reza’s Mom smiles and says the food is excellent and Saadi jumps in and says his mother trained the cook. Abbas asks Reza how school is going and Reza lies saying it is ok. He thinks about how he is the new dark kid with no friends. He thinks that he is scared of Art, but really likes Judy. Reza’s mother asks about his classes and Reza says they are reading The Odyssey.
