Summary

Six months after Merit’s miscarriage, Cory walks in on her working out and begins to wonder whether she is reacting to her loss by indulging in the things she believes she would not have been able to do if she had successfully given birth. When Cory begins pushing her to have another baby with him, Merit shuts him down immediately, and the pair exchange some chilly words. After this argument, Jane asks to meet Merit for coffee, at which point she informs Merit that Edward is leaving her in order to run away with his chef. She also informs Merit that she is leaving Lars and Erik’s firm to start her own, a venture related to the trip she took to New York about which she was so secretive.
