Summary
In Chapter 20, Cork arrives home that afternoon to celebrate his mother's birthday. Cork and Jorge play Risk each Sunday evening. Their game is interrupted when Mary Margaret arrives with a bruised face. Cork and Jorge listen as Mary Margaret tells Carla that Duncan hit her, that she has nowhere else to go, and that she would leave with nothing if she divorced Duncan because of “adultery.” She says she lied when Liam asked her about Big John and now feels like a coward. Duncan arrives and demands Mary Margaret go home. He breaks a half-empty whiskey bottle in his anger.
In Chapter 21, Sam and Liam are on the porch when Cork arrives at home. He tells them what he overheard and that Duncan had a bottle of Four Roses whiskey, the same kind they found at Big John's cabin and at Lightning Strike...
