Summary

In Chapter 52, Grim heals Isla using Moonling magic and also finds an old Wildling charm that brings Celeste back to health. Celeste confirms Azul had poisoned her. Oro returns, with the heart in his hand. She used the heart to heal herself. Oro reveals that Nightshade must die and that Isla has to kill Grim, which distresses her greatly.

During Chapter 53, Isla decides to disobey the king and use the bondbreaker to free herself, Celeste, and Grim from the curse. They are teleported to a Wildling forest where Grim reveals he had been removing memories from her brain, including when she teleported back to her room right before the book started. Distressed that Grim had been lying to her this entire time, she flees to the palace of mirrors where Celeste is waiting with the bondbreaker.
