Summary

At the beginning of Chapter 44, Isla tells Celeste that Cleo spun the curses and that Oro was on their side the whole time. She reacts positively and tells her to keep working with Oro. On the 75th day, the Centennial is interrupted by a festival, hosted by the king. At the festival, she has too many drinks and retreats back to her room. She encounters Oro and begins asking him drunken questions, inviting him into her room to talk more. He reveals that before his brother’s death, he had been in charge of the military and that he’s had trouble sleeping due to guilt. They fall asleep together but Oro has to leave. Isla spends an hour on the balcony before hearing the party go quiet and Ella tells her that Celeste has been attacked at the party.
