Chapters Twenty-nine and Epilogue Summary and Analysis
In Chapter Twenty-nine, Damien writes that he has been out of jail for six months. He is still struggling to adjust to the world outside prison. He writes of the sensory overload that he felt when being in the courtroom for his guilty plea. He details what happens to himself and to Jason as soon as they are out of the courtroom. They are given ID's and taken to a hotel suite at Madison Hotel in Memphis where a buffet has been set up for them. While he and Jason are involved in this huge party, Jessie Misskelley goes back to his father's trailer in West Memphis. Damien is finally able to rest, and to spend time with his wife.
