Chapters Nineteen and Twenty Summary and Analysis
In Chapter Nineteen, Damien is spending more time at his parents' house as he and Domini have been arguing. He is eating a bowl of Fruit Loops when he sees the news account of three eight-year-old boys murdered near Lakeshore in West Memphis. Rumors abound that the murders are connected with Satanism. Soon, two cops come to question Damien privately at his house. Damien recalls that instead of questioning him about the murders they ask him about the Bible, the sorts of book that he reads and whether or not he's heard plans to sacrifice children. They take a picture of Damien, which he believes that they use to plant ideas in the minds of the people whom they question.
