Jacob

Jacob Portman is the 16 year-old main character and principal protagonist of the novel “Library of Souls” by Ransom Riggs. Jacob is a peculiar with the ability to control Hollowgasts, and the as-of-yet unknown ability to handle the jars and souls in the Library of Souls. Jacob is still deeply hurt by the killing of his grandfather at the hands of a Hollowgast. Incredibly gentle, thoughtful, and morally-conscious, Jacob fights alongside Emma to free Miss Peregrine, Addison, the ymbrines, and the other peculiar children from the clutches of Caul. Jacob’s efforts to succeed are only helped by the unspoken romantic love he and Emma share for one another.
