Summary
Chapter 8 is written from the perspective of both Strike and Robin. Robin goes into the office on Sunday evening after texting Strike to find out what he wanted her to do on Monday. Strike is on his cell phone. She makes him Typhoo and then listens to a message on the answering machine. It is Billy asking for Strike's help. Strike tells Robin to get the phone number, but before she does, another call comes in. It is from a man named Jasper Chiswell. He wants Strike, and only Strike, to do a job for him. Robin gives Strike the message. Strike recognizes the name as that of the Minister of Culture. One of his sons went to jail for running over a woman while he was stoned.
