Summary
In Chapter 9, as they walked back to Tobin’s car JP, the Duke and Tobin continued their playful argument about cheerleaders. When they stopped talking, Tobin thought about the way the snow made everything different.
They saw the Duke and Duchess convenience store and Tobin remembered the story behind the Duke’s nickname. Because the Duke had gone through puberty late and had always worn t-shits and blue jeans one of the employees had confused for a boy. He had called her Duke and the name stuck.
Meanwhile, JP noticed Tobin was walking strangely. When Tobin said his feet were really cold, JP insisted they make an emergency stop at the convenience store for dry socks. As Tobin sat he saw the Tinfoil man sitting in one of the booths.
