Summary
At the library, Madeline looks up up her father’s boy’s home in Chapter 28. A friendly minister helps her. They find it: All Saints School. The minister is shocked to hear the name of Madeline’s father.
The minister is none other than Calvin’s pen pal. Wakely first met Calvin at a lecture Calvin held at Harvard. Wakely stopped writing Calvin once Calvin wrote to him to say he hated his birth father. He felt guilty for triggering his friend and did not know how to comfort him. Wakely moved back to Commons a few years ago. He attended Calvin’s funeral.
