Summary
During the first night of camping in the desert, Lewis tells Arthur that he and his husband Clark plan to divorce one another. Arthur is astonished to hear this, as Lewis and Clark have always been a highly consistent couple. Lewis says that when they married one another, he and Clark agreed to assess their relationship every ten years, and after 20 years, they decided that they should divorce and explore other things. Arthur is baffled by this, as Lewis says that their marriage was consistently solid throughout those 20 years, and Lewis says that he and Clark will remain friends. Lewis also mentions that “Freddy locked himself in the bathroom the night before the wedding” (183).
