Chapter 2 Summary

Mo says that she is freaking out about how much she's taken on: schoolwork, volunteer work at the clinic, a difficult musical piece for the talent show—and now Scott Pickett: she decides that he will have to go. She is discussing this with Naomi Fishmeier, her best friend, at her father's Indian grocery store. Mo says that her family moved to America for better opportunities, but she will still have to confront the possibility of an arranged marriage. When she gets to school the next morning, Mo finds a note from Mrs. Reznik: Come see me right away.
