Little Bodie's Diary
Little Bodie's diary symbolizes his childhood innocence, as the diary itself chronicles the hardships and torment he experienced in his youth which subsequently led to his becoming "Big Bodie", with an accompanying persona of anger and cruelty. It also symbolizes Leigh's connection to him; the diary itself is in Japanese, but Leigh can read it without knowing Japanese because Little Bodie allows her to.
Leigh's Father's Motorcycle
Leigh's father's motorcycle, a Ducati, represents Leigh's adulthood. Her father had given her lessons on how to ride it without the intention that she would ever do so alone without his supervision until she was legally an adult. However, his death forces Leigh to take on some adult responsibilities before she is ready, just as she is forced to take on driving the motorcycle before she is totally ready to.
