Leigh Howard
Leigh Howard is the protagonist and one of the titular characters of Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor. She is 16-years-old. Prior to the start of the novel, Leigh's parents were murdered due to her father, a police officer, investigating a criminal ring operating out of the Simmons-Pierce shipping docks. In her grief, Leigh attempted suicide. She survived, and was brought to live with her distant relatives, the Simmons family.
Leigh is extremely tenacious and determined when it comes to uncovering the truth behind her parents' murders, and stops at nothing. She is willing to lie, to run away, to break into offices and steal documents. Leigh often finds it hard to trust people and is often suspicious of the people around her.
