Point of View

The point of view of this novel is third person omniscient. The third person point of view tells the story from the point of view of the characters while referring to them in a third person pronoun rather than the first person. The omniscient view allows the reader not only to see what the character does, but to hear his thoughts and share his feelings as well. This point of view provides an intimacy with the characters that allows the reader to see them as three dimensional rather than flat, two-dimensional characters. In this novel, the third person point of view is not restricted to one character, but moves among the various characters, including major characters as well as a few minor characters.
